In 1977, the Boise Police Department fired 7 women for suspected lesbianism. The evidence of this charge was acquired using an illegal wire tap, which was eventually ruled unlawful by the judge.
But a media frenzy, public outrage and a fight for justice was not enough to give them the only thing they truly wanted, their jobs back and to return to the work they loved. To this day, the full story has never been told.
For the first time, those still alive to tell this important piece of forgotten history, will share their stories and speak their harbored truths. Now is the time to act so that history will not repeat itself.
See our current Indiegogo Fundraiser here:
Socially relevant historical stories such as this educate about oppression, homophobia and human rights. It is our hope that the bravery of these women in finally breaking their silence and coming forward with their story will bring compassion to the hearts of people everywhere and shine a light on humanity.

And our crew safe by utilizing a skeleton crew, taking advantage of in-kind personal capitol within the team and securing sponsors.
We also have been aggressively vetting rates that can cover multi-tasking and multiple operations on our production. Prime example - Our original fundraising video was shot with iPhones held by friends!

Keitumetse Mokhonwana is a visionary artist with a relentless passion for cinematography. Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Keitumetse’s affinity for storytelling developed at an early age through her involvement in theater and dance.
The world of performance art introduced her to the critical ways in which movement, light, and textures can be intentionally used to communicate powerful messages. This nascent curiosity drove her to attend film school in Cape Town at SAE Institute, where she made the commitment to filmmaking as a career.
Keitu moved to the US in 2013 where she began cultivating her craft as a 1st Assistant Camera and Cinematographer working on a wide range of projects including feature films, short films, music videos, documentaries, and experimental films.
Her time in the industry thus far has highlighted the stark difference between the content that is given space and the content she intends to create - content that centers around experiences like her own as a Black Queer African Woman.
Throughout the extent of her creative professional journey, she has placed an emphasis on creation that combines her technical orientation with her visionary insight to elevate nuanced Black experiences.
Keitu is based out of Los Angeles and Phoenix and is excited to join our team to help tell this important piece of history.
